Lori Nix’s Tiny Worlds of Urban Decay

At first glance, artist Lori Nix’s photographs appear to fall in the urban decay genre that has been so popular lately (see Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre’s work as a prime example). But upon closer inspection, you realize the photographs are of dioramas she’s created; miniature sets where the main actor is urban decay.

Each set is painstakingly created by the artist over the course of several months. The results are surreal, unworldly and entrancing.
