Chau! Buenos Aires

The City Within The City

With much sadness, I must bit farewell to the beautiful Paris of the South, Buenos Aires. I spent five wonderful weeks here, stayed with a great family in Belgrano, took in the sights of San Telmo and La Boca, dined in Polermo, and saw the beautiful architecture and history of places like Recoleta Cemetery (pictured above). I witnessed many inspiring efforts of collectives and co-operatives to create effective social change in their lives, and saw the deep social inequities that divide this city.

My complete photo album from Buenos Aires can be viewed here. My collection of stencils and street art from Buenos Aires can be viewed here.

I’m heading to Beijing, China over the course of 3 flights with layovers in Miami and Chicago. Wish me (and the rest of the group) safe travels!

Glad you had an excellent time in Buenos Aires. I myself just got back a few weeks ago from a three week stay in Palermo — explored almost the entirety of Palermo, Recoleta, Retiro, San Telmo, Belgrano, and Puerto Madero. The quality of art, architecture, design, dining, and independent businesses is truly not just world-class but easily in the top five in the world. I came home incredibly overwhelmed with inspiration.

I hope to return next year for a few months and I wholeheartedly recommend Buenos Aires to everyone.
